Changing Your Perspective

Location: Quantico, VA

JDRC is looking to fill a hardware/firmware/embedded software engineering opening. This position is typically an electrical/software/computer engineer with digital design and real time programming experience. The work load will be predominantly firmware but some tasking (10-15%) would be related embedded software. Some travel (<10%) expected.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing performance-critical custom hardware resources which utilize industry standard interfaces. Interfaces include but are not limited to PCIe Gen1/2/3, Ethernet at 10Mbps/100Mbps/1Gbps/10Gbps/100Gbps. Also included are technologies such as USB, SATA, Interlaken, etc.

The engineering team is located near Quantico, VA.

Typical Education & Experience

  • The embedded software will primarily be run on Xilinx FPGA processors (Microblaze, Zynq, & Zynq+), and consist of hardware command and control interfacing with devices such as Ethernet PHYs and TCAMs (Ternary Content Addressable Memory). Also required is system messaging (command/status) on a near real-time basis. Host software development, if necessary, will primarily consist of driver & service development in support of the aforementioned Xilinx hardware as well as real-time data processing on both Windows and Linux.
